To check for viral posts, we first searched by keywords. We did not find a similar statement for the name Ricky Ponting on Google. We fox sports Also searched the website if Ricky Ponting gave a similar interview after the 2023 World Cup? And here we didn’t find any such news where Ricky Ponting called the Indian Cricket Board a mafia. However, we found a news story on this website dated November 20, which said that the Indian pitch had been tampered with. In the same news, Ricky Ponting was also quoted as saying, “Australian cricket icon Ricky Ponting said the prepared pitch had ‘backfired on India’. (Australian cricket icon Ricky Ponting said the prepared pitch “backfired on India”.)”

We spoke to Dainik Jagran’s sports editor Abhishek Tripathi about this. He confirmed that the viral claim was misleading and that during any interview or commentary, Ricky Ponting had not referred to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as a mafia.
The user Manoj Bharti Gupta, who shared the viral video with misleading claims, is followed by more than three thousand people on Facebook. User is a resident of Delhi.
