In the ongoing conflict between Israel and the extremist group Hamas, Matan Mir (38), a famous television producer of the Netflix drama Fauda, died in an explosion in a tunnel near a mosque in Gaza’s Beit Hanoun area. Meir, a resident of Odem in the Golan Heights, died on Friday. He was best known for his work on the award-winning Israeli television show Fauda, the third season of which was based on the Gaza Strip.

‘Fauda’ actor Lior Raz praised Meir as a kind-hearted person from Israeli web portal ‘Vinet’. He said, ‘I loved you, Matan. You were here for me every moment. You just wanted to help and be here for others. Mir was posted in the 697th battalion of the 551st brigade. Four soldiers of the battalion along with Mir were killed in the blast that took place on November 10.
